The e-geo.ch Charta addresses all federal, cantonal and municipal authorities, economic parties in public or private sectors as well as research institutions that collect, administer and use geodata.

The e-geo.ch Charta for unified action
Based on the e-government strategy and the Swiss federal strategy for geo-information, the signatories of the Charta declare themselves willing to be active in laying the foundations for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, in optimizing the service and the user-oriented electronic geodata network. This involves in particular the following activities and measures:
laying the foundations for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure:
- effective capture, update and documentation of fundamental geodata
- application of commonly accepted standards for geodata
- common pricing and distribution strategy
- eliminating the reluctance in the multiple use of geo-information
improving electronic collaboration and optimizing the service:
- making the basic geo-services available
- increasing the incorporation of geodata for administrative information
- creating easy access to geodata
electronic integration through networks:
- promoting use-oriented network between administrative authorities
- commitment to cooperation on the federal, cantonal and municipal level
- simplifying the exchange of geodata between official services
«Index e-geo.ch», a monitoring tool for reviewing performance, will be used periodically to record the most important and significant indicators for registering the success of the impulse program e-geo.ch.
