The operational center, led by René Sonney, is the executive body of e-geo.ch. Her manager is an employee of COGIS.

- is responsible for the implementation of decisions taken by the steering committee e-geo.ch,
- manages the mandates given by the steering committee e-geo.ch,
- ensures the compilation, publication and distribution of e-newsletters, e-geo.ch,
- maintains the website e-geo.ch,
- is responsible for organizing and holding of the forum e-geo.ch,
- holds the secretariat of the steering committee e-geo.ch,
- keep accounts of the program, ensure rapid and appropriate information to all stakeholders concerning the activities of the steering committee and the center of competence.
